A loaded magazine caused some concern at San Francisco International Airport Saturday morning.
Around 6:35 a.m., Transportation Security Administration officers found a loaded magazine from a firearm inside Terminal 3 and the terminal was prompty shut down and evacuated, said SFO’s duty manager.
TSA officers and San Francisco police searched for and eventually located the owner of the ammunition.
The airport terminal was reopened around 7:35 a.m., airport officials said.
While ammunition can be transported in checked luggage, it isn’t allowed in carry-on baggage, according to the TSA. It wasn’t immediately clear where officers located the magazine.
Those traveling with firearm magazines and ammunition clips must secure them in a box or in a hard-sided case.
