The Golden State Warriors are waiving veteran guard Shaun Livingston, according to a report on Tuesday from ESPN NBA writer Adrian Wojnarowski.

Anthony Slater, who covers the Warriors for The Athletic, said that the team will stretch out its pay out of the $2 million, so it will cost them $666,000 plus taxes over the next three seasons.
Livingston’s departure from the team is the latest in what’s been a pretty drastic off-season makeover for one of the NBA’s most high-profile franchises.
Upon hearing the news, Warriors fans paid tribute to the veteran guard, who was part of the team for all five of the their NBA title runs and was considered one of the sages of the team.
“Thank you Shaun Livingston for helping us win three NBA titles,” read a tweet from Warriors Nation, an unofficial fan Twitter account.
One fan of the team, @BekeGSW, wrote “Shaun Livingston. Solid Warrior. Salute,” upon hearing the the news.
Other fans are taking the news as another sign that this is “the end of an era” for Golden State.
“Losing Shaun Livingston makes me feel for the first time the Warriors dynasty might be in jeopardy. Honestly, this hurts me more than KD or Iggy,” wrote one Warriors fan.
As far as where he’ll go next, many of the people reacting to the news of Livingston being waived are fans of teams other than the Warriors, like the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, and Denver Nuggets, begging the veteran to sign with their team.
